MADE FROM 5MM THICK, FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL.
What is Ferritic Stainless Steel (410 GRADE)?
The ferritic stainless steel we use is almost a cross between the more common 304 stainless steel and mild steel. It has a higher chromium content than mild steel, making it superior in the way of corrosion resistance, in fact it has 250 times greater corrosion resistance than mild steel. However, in comparison to 304 stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel contains a lower percentage of chromium, making it less corrosion resistant than the more expensive 304 or 316 grades of stainless steel.
In a nutshell, our ferritic stainless steel has good thermal conductivity and performs much better at high temperatures than 304 stainless steel, making it a great option for fire pits and grills. It combines the better heat conductivity and strength at high temperatures like the mild steel, and the low maintenance, rust resistant properties of the 304 stainless steel.
Please note that the ferritic stainless steel will discolour from heat and weathering. Most corrosive environments will cause the ferritic S/S to form a light surface patina, which unlike rust does not affect its lifetime performance. In fact the patina actually creates another protective layer on the steel impeding further corrosion from taking place. If the development of a light patina after being left out in the elements doesn't appeal to you, we would recommend going with our 304 grade stainless steel fire pit.
NATIONAL PARK FRIENDLY FIRE PIT255mm GROUND CLEARANCE. (Stability is not affected even though this is higher off the ground than our standard fire pits.)

DO NOT USE DURING TOTAL FIRE BAN IN YOUR STATE - NO FIRES, CHARCOAL OR HEAT BEADS CAN BE USED. ONLY GAS OR ELECTRIC APPLIANCES ARE ALLOWED TO BE USED DURING TOTAL FIRE BAN.
Please Note: These are made from Stainless steel, and they will become discoloured in areas of high heat. Also, they are processed through heavy machinery so they will have scratches and/or marks. See below for an example.
