Why We Use Ferritic Stainless Steel for Our Hot Plates

At EZY Q, we’ve carefully selected a special grade of ferritic stainless steel for our hot plates—and here’s what makes it stand out:

• Non-Stick and Easy to Clean: Once seasoned, the surface becomes naturally non-stick, making cleanup quick and hassle-free after every use.
• Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: Our ferritic stainless steel offers up to 200 times more corrosion resistance than mild steel, making it much more durable for outdoor cooking.
• More Durable Than 304/316 Stainless Steel: Unlike 304 and 316 stainless steels, which can warp or distort when heated directly over flames, ferritic stainless steel handles high heat much better. It has superior heat distribution for high heat cooking.

Please Note:

• Use gloves during assembly/disassembly – edges may be sharp
• Expect surface discoloration or patina with use – this does not affect performance
• Ferritic stainless steel has slightly less corrosion resistance than 304/316 grades. For best longevity, dry thoroughly before storing and occasionally oil the surface to enhance protection
• The steel parts may have some marks/texture or scratches from the manufacturing process
• Some warping over time is normal – alternate panel sides between uses to reduce this
• Always supervise children and pets when the fire pit is in use.
